Confused about what hand file to buy? Here’s the low down…
I have a thing about files. Seriously, I love nothing more than using fresh files on my clients, and our Young Nails ones are SO easy to use. Slim, and easy to hold, you can really contour the shape of the nail plate with them, get into those hard to reach places and give your clients perfectly prepped nails.
As a beginner, knowing which file to buy can be a bit confusing. I’m here to talk you through when to use each grit.
YOUNG NAILS 150 GRIT NAIL FILE
150 grit file (our bestseller!) - Medium grit; for use on the natural nail and the extension. Use for prepping the nail plate, or for filing your acrylic or hard gel into shape.
YOUNG NAILS 100 GRIT FILE
100 grit file - Coarse grit; for use on acrylic/hard gel only. Perfect for taking down length of extensions or de-bulking the product before a soak off. Never use on the natural nail plate.
YOUNG NAILS 180 BUFFER
180/180 Sponge Buffers are used to refine and smooth the surface of the nail. Perfect for any sharpness to buff underneath the nail rather than risking tweaking the shape using a file.
